TikTok Star Khaby Lame Detained and Released in the U.S. Over Visa Violation

Popular TikTok personality Khaby Lame, who rose to fame during the COVID-19 pandemic, was briefly detained by U.S. immigration authorities on June 6, 2025, at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Lame, an Italian citizen, was reportedly held for violating immigration laws after his visa expired.
According to foreign media reports, the 25-year-old TikTok star had arrived in the U.S. for a visit but was stopped by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. Upon inspection, it was found that Lame’s visa had expired, leading to his detention. The incident occurred shortly after Lame arrived in Las Vegas, where he had planned to spend some time.
Reports suggest that ICE confirmed Lame’s visa violation but allowed him to voluntarily return to his home country without further legal action. He was released the same day and allowed to leave the U.S.
