Trump Administration May Ban Travelers from 36 More Countries

U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration was planning to expand travel bans by possibly stopping people from 36 more countries from entering the United States. This was shared in a U.S. government document, according to Reuters.

Earlier that month, Trump had already banned travellers from 12 countries, saying it was necessary to protect the U.S. from terrorism and security risks.

This decision was part of Trump’s strict immigration policies during his second term. His government had also deported many Venezuelans to El Salvador for suspected gang ties and made it harder for foreign students to study in the U.S.

A message signed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the U.S. had security concerns about these 36 countries. The countries were given 60 days to improve their security systems and share information with the U.S. If they didn’t, they could face full or partial travel bans.
