Trump Claims Peace Legacy: "Best Candidate for Nobel Prize"

IOWA – U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a powerful address at the Iowa State Fairgrounds as part of the nation’s 250th Independence Day celebrations, highlighting his domestic policies, immigration plans, and what he described as key contributions to global peace.

Speaking to a large and energised crowd, Trump claimed credit for halting five international conflicts, asserting that his leadership helped prevent major wars. He said his actions during his presidency, including de-escalating tensions between nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan, ending long-running hostilities between Congo and Rwanda, and mediating the Kosovo-Serbia standoff, make him a strong contender for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“People ask why a college professor gets a Nobel Peace Prize, someone nobody even knows. I stopped wars that could have ended millions of lives,” Trump said, pointing to his efforts on the international stage.

On domestic matters, Trump addressed the concerns of American farmers, especially those reliant on seasonal migrant labour. He proposed a plan where, if farmers vouched for their workers, those workers could be allowed to stay in the country. At the same time, he doubled down on his commitment to a major deportation effort, calling it the largest in U.S. history.

“We are identifying and removing illegal immigrants by the millions,” Trump said, also referencing his decision to deploy the National Guard in Los Angeles to prevent what he described as a potential disaster. “If I hadn’t sent them in, the city would have burnt.”

Criticising the Biden administration, Trump accused the current government of enabling a wave of illegal immigration. Millions came in under Biden. We’re putting a stop to that,” he declared.

Trump also spoke of his economic policy, referring to the ongoing “Big Beautiful Act,” which he claimed is boosting wages, curbing inflation, and tightening border control. He credited his past term for putting the U.S. economy on a stronger footing and vowed to build on that success.

Praising the strength of the U.S. military, Trump said, “We have the best military, unmatched aircraft, and record-breaking flight endurance. No one can compete with us.”

In closing, Trump reiterated his desire to return to the presidency for another four years. “We fixed the direction of this country once, and we’re ready to restore the greatness America truly deserves,” he said.
