Trump denies reports of approving strike on Iran

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed recent media reports claiming he approved a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling them false and baseless.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump said, “The newspaper has no idea what I’m thinking about Iran.”

His response came after The Wall Street Journal and several British media outlets reported that Trump had informed senior advisers of his readiness to approve a strike on Iran to kerb its nuclear program.

According to those reports, while Trump allegedly gave preliminary approval, no final decision was made. The potential target cited was Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, located deep within a mountain—reportedly requiring bunker-busting bombs to penetrate.
