Ankara: Türkiye has offered to mediate between Iran and Israel amid rising tensions in the region.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a phone call with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian expressed Türkiye’s willingness to play a constructive role in restoring peace. He warned that continued escalation would primarily harm the Middle East, which cannot afford another war. He emphasised that the nuclear issue must be resolved through diplomacy.

China also urged immediate de-escalation and stated it is in contact with all parties to help stabilise the situation. The European Union has called an emergency meeting of foreign ministers on Tuesday to discuss a diplomatic solution.
