UAE Announces Graphene Production Deal with UK for Advanced Technology

The United Arab Emirates has announced a major step into advanced materials by launching graphene production for export to the United Kingdom.
The initiative comes through a partnership between Sharjah-based energy firm Dana Gas and British technology company Lividian, marking a significant milestone in industrial collaboration.
Graphene, a form of carbon, is widely regarded as one of the strongest and lightest materials in the world, with immense potential across multiple industries.
It is commonly used in advanced applications such as batteries, construction materials, coatings, medical devices, and sensors, making it a highly valuable resource for future technologies.
The project is expected to begin with an initial investment ranging between $2 million and $5 million, with plans to gradually scale up to $50 million and eventually reach $500 million.
Under this agreement, the UAE-based company will produce graphene locally and export it to the UK, where it will be integrated into cutting-edge technological solutions.
In the first phase, approximately 15 tons of graphene will be produced annually, positioning the UAE as an emerging player in the global advanced materials market.
