The UN Security Council resolution against Iran attacks has been approved after member states condemned Iran’s strikes on neighboring countries. The move reflects growing international concern over regional tensions and calls for stronger action to maintain global peace and security.
During the Security Council meeting, member states strongly criticized Iran’s attacks on nearby countries. The draft resolution, prepared by Gulf nations, received 13 votes in favor. China and Russia were absent during the vote on the resolution condemning Iran’s actions.
Pakistan supported the resolution presented by the Gulf countries and also acted as one of its co-sponsors. Bahrain’s representative said that the resolution condemning Iran’s attacks was co-sponsored by 135 countries, making it one of the most widely supported resolutions in the history of the United Nations.

This was the first time in UN history that a resolution had as many as 135 co-sponsors. Previously, a resolution related to the Ebola crisis had been supported by 134 countries, which had been the highest number until now.
Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, said Pakistan had also condemned US and Israeli attacks on Iran and supports Iran’s sovereignty. He added that two Pakistanis were killed in Iranian attacks in the UAE and warned that rising tensions threaten global peace. He stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy, while the UN Security Council resolution against Iran attacks highlights the urgency of addressing the crisis.
