US and India Begin Talks to Remove Trade Barriers
Washington: US President Donald Trump has confirmed that negotiations between the United States and India have begun to remove existing trade barriers.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said he looks forward to speaking with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the coming weeks, expressing confidence that reaching a successful outcome for both nations will not be difficult.

Prime Minister Modi also responded positively, stating that the US and India are close friends and natural partners. He added that the talks would open the door to broader trade opportunities and create new avenues for prosperity for the people of both countries.

According to Modi, negotiation teams from both sides are working to complete the process as soon as possible in order to strengthen economic cooperation.

Relations between Washington and New Delhi have faced strains in recent months. The US has imposed a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods, while President Trump has repeatedly criticized Modi. He also canceled a scheduled visit to India amid the tensions.
