US has not decided to ban Pakistanis, says US State Department spokesperson

The US State Department’s Urdu-language spokesperson, Margaret MacLeod, has clarified that the Trump administration has not decided to impose a travel ban on Pakistani citizens.
Speaking on the matter, MacLeod stated that President Donald Trump had issued a presidential order on January 20, under which the US administration is reviewing its visa policies. The order aims to strengthen national security and prevent threats from foreign terrorists.
“The visa program is being revised under the presidential order,” she said. “The United States is committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens, and we are closely monitoring and exchanging information regarding visa regulations.”
She further mentioned that President Trump acknowledged Pakistan’s cooperation during his recent State of the Union address, highlighting the contributions of Pakistani Americans to US society.
“Pakistanis living in the United States are an integral part of our community,” MacLeod emphasised.
The spokesperson also urged visa applicants to provide accurate information in their documents, warning that individuals attempting to enter the country illegally would face strict action.
