Veteran Bollywood actor Dheeraj Kumar passes away at 79

Renowned Indian actor Dheeraj Kumar has passed away at the age of 79 in Mumbai.
The veteran actor, best known for his roles in hit films like “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan” and “Sargam”, had been battling pneumonia and was on a ventilator in the ICU for several days. His condition worsened recently, leading to breathing complications.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 16, in Punjab, where many of his films were also based in the Punjabi language.
Dheeraj Kumar began his career in 1965 after winning a talent contest. He acted in 21 Punjabi films and appeared in several notable Bollywood movies between 1970 and 1984, including Bahuroopi, Shriman Shrimati, and others.
His contribution to Indian cinema, particularly Punjabi and Hindi films, is remembered fondly by fans and colleagues alike.
