Weather Relief Ahead: Heavy Rains Expected Across Pakistan Next Week

There’s good news for citizens suffering from extreme heat, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rainfall in various parts of the country in the coming week.

According to PMD, from Monday evening to Wednesday, Islamabad and the surrounding areas are likely to experience thunderstorms and heavy showers. Upper regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and northern Punjab, are also expected to see partially cloudy weather with chances of rain and thunderstorms at isolated locations.

Residents in southern parts of the country — particularly southern Punjab and northern Balochistan — may finally get relief from the scorching heat, with predictions of dust storms and thunderstorm-driven rain during the same period.

Light rain accompanied by dusty winds is also expected in southeastern Sindh, potentially lowering temperatures temporarily.

The Director General of the Meteorological Department stated that a new spell of rainfall will begin from May 29 to May 31, with strong winds and heavy downpours likely during this period.
