Expensive Mango
Mango lovers are found all over the world, but a rare variety grown in Japan has taken the spotlight for its astonishing price. Known as the “Miyazaki Mango”, this luxurious fruit is considered the most expensive mango in the world, with a jaw-dropping price of up to PKR 300,000 per kilogram.

Nicknamed the “Eggs of Sunshine” due to its vibrant appearance, the Miyazaki mango is also called the “Dinosaur’s Egg” because of its deep reddish-purple colour. It’s not just the colour that makes it special — its intense sweetness, rich aroma, and soft, fibreless pulp make it a delicacy admired globally.

These mangoes are cultivated under strictly controlled conditions in Miyazaki, a city in southern Japan. Each mango typically weighs between 350 and 550 grams and contains over 15% sugar content, making it exceptionally sweet and juicy. The absence of fibre adds to its smooth texture, enhancing its appeal among fruit connoisseurs.

While Japan remains the primary producer of Miyazaki mangoes, small-scale cultivation is also taking place in Thailand, the Philippines, and India. However, the original Japanese variety remains unmatched in quality and flavour.
