President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to Karachi amid rising tensions between Sindh and Punjab. The decision came after a telephonic conversation between Zardari and Naqvi. Both leaders discussed the growing political row between the two provincial governments. Tensions have increased following fiery statements and political blame games after recent flood devastation. Official sources confirmed Naqvi has been called for urgent consultations.

Earlier, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif threw his full support behind Maryam Nawaz in the ongoing political clash. He reportedly told Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that Maryam truly represents Punjab’s people. Shehbaz suggested that a softer tone from Maryam could ease the situation. However, Nawaz Sharif disagreed and defended the statements made by the Punjab chief minister. His support has added fuel to the already heated exchange.

In reaction, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon held a scathing press conference. He strongly criticized Maryam Nawaz and the Punjab government. This response came shortly after Nawaz Sharif’s backing of his daughter. Political observers believe the statement intensified the conflict between the two ruling allies. The rift now threatens broader cooperation at the national level.

Meanwhile, Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari defended Maryam Nawaz’s stance. She firmly stated that Maryam would not apologize to anyone. This statement shut down any speculation of a public retraction. Bukhari insisted that the chief minister stood by her words. The statement reflects Punjab’s strong position in the ongoing political row.

The war of words between the two provinces continues to escalate. Political leaders are scrambling to control the fallout. With Mohsin Naqvi summoned to Karachi, key decisions are expected soon. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether the rift will cool down or widen further. All eyes are now on the high-level consultations in Karachi.
