In a historic victory, Muslim candidate Zohran Mamdani has been elected as the first-ever Muslim Mayor of New York City, marking a significant milestone in the city’s political landscape.

According to official results, Mamdani secured 486,741 votes, defeating independent candidate Andrew Cuomo, who received 396,177 votes. Republican contender Curtis Sliwa trailed far behind with only 79,281 votes.
