Pakistan’s Urban population to reach 99.4 million by 2030

According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Pakistan’s urban population is growing at an annual rate of 3.65% and is expected to reach 99.4 million by 2030. The bank’s report highlights the significant demographic changes in the country, with urban areas witnessing rapid expansion.

As per the 2023 census, Pakistan’s overall population growth rate stands at 2.55%, while the urban population has already reached 93.8 million. This represents a fourfold increase in urban population since 1981.
