38 Bird Strike Incidents Reported on PIA Aircraft in First Half of 2025

Lahore: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) experienced 38 bird strike incidents involving its aircraft during the first six months of 2025, according to a recent report.

The Lahore Airport topped the list with 9 recorded incidents, followed by Multan with 7, Karachi with 5, and Islamabad and Peshawar with 4 each. Sialkot reported 3 bird strikes, while 1 case was recorded from Quetta.

Additionally, international bird strike cases were reported from Jeddah, Dammam, Kuala Lumpur, and Sharjah airports.

The report highlights that the majority of bird collisions—27 incidents—involved Airbus aircraft, while 10 incidents were linked to Boeing 777 jets. Authorities are reviewing these cases to strengthen preventive safety measures.
