48% Increase in Foreign Investment in Pakistan

In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025, Pakistan has seen an impressive 48% increase in direct foreign investment.

According to the State Bank, direct investment from July to September 2024 reached $771 million, surpassing last year’s $520 million. On a year-over-year basis, foreign direct investment (FDI) in fiscal year 2024 increased by 81%, reaching $385 million.

The central bank’s report highlights a 70% rise in total foreign investment in Pakistan, which grew from $530 million to $903.5 million.

Investment from China amounted to $404 million; Saudi Arabia invested $1.8 million; the UAE invested $25 million; Hong Kong invested $98 million; the UK invested $72 million; and the U.S. invested $28 million.
