Field Marshal meets Iranian military leadership, discusses border security and defence cooperation

Tehran: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with the Iranian Chief of General Staff, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, during his official visit to Tehran.  The two military leaders discussed regional security, border management, and enhancing bilateral defence cooperation.

According to a statement from ISPR, General Munir visited Iran’s General Staff Headquarters, where he was presented with a guard of honour.

Talks also focused on strengthening military-to-military ties, improving border security mechanisms, and exploring opportunities to transform border areas into trade and economic zones.

Field Marshal is accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on an official tour to Türkiye, Iran, and Azerbaijan, where they are holding key meetings with the leadership of these comradely nations.
