Privatisation of PIA Gains Momentum as Investor Groups Prepare for Briefings

The federal government has expedited the privatisation process of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), with four shortlisted investor consortia scheduled to visit PIA Headquarters in Karachi next week.
According to sources, the visiting investor groups will receive comprehensive briefings covering PIA’s human resource structure, financial records, fleet details, and both domestic and international operations.
PIA management has been directed to make all necessary preparations to ensure smooth and informative sessions. A significant development in the process is that all four investor groups will be granted access to PIA’s official business data ahead of the bidding stage.
The step is aimed at allowing the interested parties to assess the airline’s current standing, evaluate its business model, and prepare well-informed and competitive bids.
