Ruling coalition secures two-thirds majority in Senate; PPP emerges as largest party

Following the recent Senate elections, the ruling coalition has achieved a two-thirds majority in the upper house, with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) emerging as the largest party, holding 26 seats.

According to reports, the PPP holds 26 seats, PML-N 20 seats, PTI 16 seats plus support from 6 independents. In addition to that, JUI-F has 7 seats, BAP 4 seats, while MQM and ANP have 3 seats each.

This positions the PPP as the largest party in the Senate, followed by PTI and then PML-N. The total strength of the ruling coalition now exceeds the two-thirds majority threshold, solidifying its legislative power in the upper house.
