Türkiye Unveils Missile-Armed Robot Dog ‘Koz’ to Revolutionize Modern Warfare

Türkiye has introduced a groundbreaking robot dog named “Koz” equipped with laser-guided mini-missiles. Developed by Turkish defence firm Roketsan, Koz can be operated remotely or function autonomously.
The robotic dog was officially showcased at an international defence exhibition held in Istanbul, drawing global attention for its unique capabilities.
Koz is the first robotic dog in the world designed to launch guided missiles. It carries four laser-guided mini-missiles made by Roketsan. The robot is also equipped with an electro-optical system. This allows it to conduct surveillance and attack missions efficiently, even in complex environments.
Designed for rough terrain, Koz can easily shift between remote control and autonomous mode. Its advanced mobility and precision targeting make it highly effective in modern combat zones. The robot is built for missions in caves, urban warzones, and other high-risk areas, without endangering soldiers’ lives.
Experts describe Koz as a major leap in defence technology. Its ability to perform missions without human presence marks a new era of robotic warfare. The system allows for accurate targeting while reducing the need for direct human involvement in dangerous operations.
Associate Professor and retired Rear Admiral Cihat Yayci from Istanbul’s Topkapi University praised the robot as a “game changer.” He said Koz is not just a technological innovation but a strategic tool that will save lives. He emphasised that using robots in high-risk areas can eliminate threats without risking soldiers.
