Ready for Arrest Aleema Khan

LAHORE: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has declared she is ready to be arrested, asserting she will not bow to pressure from authorities.

On Friday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi directed officials to block Aleema Khan’s national identity card (CNIC) after she repeatedly failed to appear in a case related to the November 26 PTI protest. The court also ordered the Director General of Immigration and Passports to suspend her passport and instructed the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan to freeze all her bank accounts.

Meanwhile, Aleema Khan and her sister Uzma Khan appeared before an ATC in Lahore for a separate case related to the October 5 PTI protest. The court extended their interim bail until December 5, 2025.

Speaking to the media outside the court, Aleema Khan said she was unafraid of arrest. “They cannot silence me. I am ready to go to jail,” she said. She added that she refused offers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officials to relocate her, insisting that the police arrest her.

Earlier, Rawalpindi police refrained from arresting Aleema Khan despite the warrant. She appeared at the Islamabad High Court for a hearing regarding a petition filed by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, seeking a meeting with Imran Khan. After signing the arrest warrant and surrendering to authorities, police asked her to return to court the next day, declining to take her into custody.

Aleema Khan reiterated her commitment to continue speaking out, saying she would not be intimidated by attempts to silence her or other PTI members.
