Saad Rizvi, TLP Workers Booked for Terrorism Charges

RAWALPINDI: Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) chief Saad Hussain Rizvi and several party workers have been booked under terrorism and related charges following violent clashes with police.
First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed at police stations in Rawat, Taxila, and Muridke. The charges include terrorism, attempted murder, robbery, and incitement to violence.
The FIRs allege that protesters attacked police officers with firearms, petrol bombs, and spiked sticks. Inspector Shahzad Jhumat was killed by a gunshot during the clashes, and several other officers were injured.
In Rawat, the FIR named Saad Rizvi, 21 TLP leaders and workers, and 35 unidentified individuals. Protesters reportedly seized 150 tear gas shells, damaged police vehicles, blocked roads, and stole ammunition.
Police recovered weapons and evidence including spiked sticks, petrol bombs, TLP flags, stones, and bullet shells at the scene.
A separate FIR was registered in Muridke after Inspector Shahzad Jhumat’s death. It includes 33 sections related to terrorism and names numerous TLP members.
