Sindh Speaker Extends Diwali Greetings to Hindu Community

KARACHISpeaker of the Sindh Assembly, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, extended warm Diwali greetings to the Hindu community, calling the festival a symbol of light, joy, and harmony. In a message shared on the occasion, he said Diwali carries a universal message of peace and love that resonates across communities.

Highlighting Sindh’s legacy of coexistence, Shah said the province has always stood as a beacon of tolerance, mutual respect, and interfaith harmony. He reiterated that religious minorities in Sindh enjoy equal rights, as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan.

The Speaker praised the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for ensuring fair representation of minority groups in both governance and administration, promoting inclusivity and equality.

“Diwali reminds us of the values of humanity, solidarity, and hope. It’s a time to strengthen bonds and promote unity across all communities,” he said.

Earlier in the day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed their best wishes to the Hindu community on Diwali, underscoring the importance of religious harmony and cultural celebration.

The Hindu community in Pakistan, along with celebrants around the world, is marking Diwali today with traditional prayers, festive meals, fireworks, and gatherings to celebrate the festival of lights.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended warm greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In his message, the Prime Minister said that Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and hope over despair. He added, “On this Diwali, let us all look toward the future with positivity and unity. As Pakistanis, we take pride in the diversity of our society.”

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that religious diversity in Pakistan is a true source of unity among the people, and he paid tribute to the valuable contributions of the Hindu community to the country’s progress and development.
