Shaheen Afridi appointed new ODI captain

Shaheen Afridi has been appointed the new ODI captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, replacing Mohammad Rizwan. He will lead the team in the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. Shaheen Afridi appointed new ODI captain after a key meeting in Islamabad.

The series will be played in Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium from November 4 to November 8. This will be Shaheen’s first time leading Pakistan in one-day matches, although he has experience as a captain in T20 games earlier this year.

The decision was made during a meeting attended by head coach Mike Hesson, High Performance Director Aaqib Javed, and members of the national selection committee. After discussions, the board agreed to give Shaheen the responsibility of leading the ODI side.

So far, Shaheen Afridi has played 66 ODIs and 92 T20 matches for Pakistan, taking a total of 249 wickets. He also has 120 wickets in 32 Test matches and is known for his match-winning performances.
