Suicide Blast Headquarters in Peshawar

A powerful explosion struck the gate of the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar on Monday, according to local police. Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mian Saeed Ahmad confirmed the attack, stating that security forces were responding and the area was being cordoned off. Initial reports suggest that the blast was caused by a suicide bomber, though authorities are still investigating.

Security sources reported that after the explosion, gunfire was heard near the blast site. Two militants were reportedly killed in the exchange of fire, and the area was quickly secured by security forces. The intensity of the explosion shattered windows in nearby buildings, causing panic among locals and disrupting normal activity in the area.

CCPO Ahmad further confirmed that the blast appeared to be a suicide attack based on initial assessments. Law enforcement agencies promptly cordoned off the area to prevent further incidents. Police teams were dispatched to the site to gather evidence and begin an investigation into the attack. Authorities are focusing on securing the scene and identifying those responsible.

The attack on the FC headquarters in Peshawar marks another escalation in violence targeting security forces in the region. While details are still emerging, the bombing follows a series of similar incidents in Pakistan. Terrorist groups have often targeted military and law enforcement personnel, especially in areas like Peshawar, which has experienced significant security challenges in recent years.

Authorities are continuing their probe into the incident, and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. The incident highlights ongoing security concerns in the region, with police and military forces working to prevent further attacks.

A suicide blast occurred near Doh Ghoda Bridge in Bannu on Tuesday, close to the Basiya Khel police station. Police confirmed that the attacker blew himself up before reaching his intended target. A body and a damaged motorcycle were found at the scene, suggesting the bomber may have been riding the bike. Law enforcement quickly reached the site and cordoned off the area. An investigation is underway to determine the target and whether the attacker had accomplices.

Authorities said the blast came just days after a successful joint operation by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police. On November 15, security forces killed five terrorists in the Takhtikhel border area of Bannu and Lakki Marwat. Officials noted that the operation was based on intelligence about militant formations operating in the region. Weapons were recovered during the raid, preventing potential attacks. This highlights the ongoing security efforts to dismantle extremist networks.
