Pakistan security forces successfully thwarted a suicide attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar on Monday morning. Three terrorists were killed during the attempt, while three FC personnel embraced martyrdom while responding to the attack. The incident took place in the Saddar area of Peshawar, causing significant panic in the vicinity.

According to CCPO Peshawar, two explosions were heard near the FC Headquarters, shattering the windows of nearby buildings. Law enforcement agencies swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to secure the premises. The blasts caused widespread concern, but the prompt action of security forces prevented further damage.

The first suicide bomber detonated himself at the gates of the headquarters at 8:11 a.m. Two other terrorists attempted to breach the facility but were neutralized by FC personnel at the gate. IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfikar Hamid, confirmed that two FC personnel were martyred, and two others were injured in the confrontation. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Despite the attackers’ efforts, the robust security measures in place prevented a larger disaster. Authorities believe that the terrorists’ attempt could have caused significant casualties, but the timely response from FC personnel minimized the damage. Security forces continue to carry out clearance operations in the area, and the road in front of the FC headquarters remains closed for traffic.

Investigations are ongoing, and security agencies are collecting evidence to fully understand the scope of the attack.
