A US magazine has exposed the evolving tactics of the Balochistan Liberation Army. The National Interest reported the group’s growing reliance on network-based terrorism. It said the BLA operates through fragmented cells rather than controlling territory.

According to the report, terrorism now follows a low-cost and high-fear model. It said the banned group lacks territorial control but continues violent attacks. As a result, scattered networks sustain its operations.

Moreover, the report warned that BLA activities threaten the wider region. It said cross-border terrorist networks endanger regional stability and interests. Therefore, the threat extends beyond Pakistan’s borders.

The magazine also rejected claims linking violence only to economic deprivation. It said poverty cannot justify terrorism or extremist violence. Notably, Pakistan, the US, the UK, and China have designated the BLA a terrorist group.

Furthermore, the report linked rising terrorism to weapons left in Afghanistan. It urged the US to focus on dismantling terrorist networks. In conclusion, it called for joint action using intelligence sharing and financial tracking.
