DG ISPR Says Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq Aimed at Public Protection

Rawalpindi: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of ISPR, has stated during a detailed briefing that there is no difference between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorists. He said the world understands that Pakistan’s Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.

According to the military spokesperson, on the night of February 21 and 22, Pakistani forces targeted hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij near the border. He claimed that the Afghan Taliban regime used this action as a pretext for what he described as a so-called retaliatory move.

He stated that firing incidents occurred at 53 locations across 15 sectors along the Pak-Afghan border. However, all attacks were effectively repelled, and a strong response was delivered at each point.

The DG ISPR claimed that during Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, 274 Taliban regime members and militants were killed, while more than 400 were injured. He further said that over 74 posts were completely destroyed and 18 check posts were taken under Pakistan’s control.

He added that 115 enemy tanks and armored vehicles were destroyed. In the operation, 12 Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom while 27 were injured.

Drone attacks in Abbottabad and Nowshera were also foiled, he said. Targets in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar were struck with precision, focusing solely on military installations.

Pakistan Army carried out the operation in a professional manner, targeting only military objectives and terrorist hideouts, he concluded, adding that the operation will continue under the Prime Minister’s directives until its objectives are achieved.
