Kuwait food safety health clearance

Kuwait has issued a strict warning to food businesses against employing workers without proper medical clearance, as part of efforts to strengthen food safety standards nationwide.

The directive was announced by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, which emphasized that all employees in food-related establishments must undergo mandatory health examinations and obtain official certification before beginning work.

Authorities said hiring workers without completing final medical tests constitutes a clear violation of health regulations. Establishments found breaching these rules could face legal action, including penalties and possible closure, officials warned.

The move is part of a broader campaign to safeguard public health and ensure that food businesses maintain strict hygiene standards. Officials stressed that compliance is essential to prevent the spread of diseases and protect consumers.

Food business owners have been urged to verify that all employees meet the required health criteria prior to employment. The authority also encouraged regular monitoring to ensure ongoing adherence to regulations.

In a separate development, the Ministry of Interior Kuwait announced updates to the country’s national alert system. The revised mechanism will improve the delivery of emergency notifications on smart devices, ensuring they are synchronised with warning sirens across the country.

The ministry said the system has been designed to enhance efficiency while considering rest periods, allowing alerts to be delivered more effectively without causing unnecessary disruption.

Together, these measures reflect Kuwait’s continued focus on public safety, combining stricter food health regulations with improved emergency communication systems to better protect residents.
