Peace talks disrupted as Israel strikes Iran, Ishaq Dar said while addressing recent regional tensions. He explained that Pakistan had been hopeful about dialogue between the two sides. However, sudden military action has now created serious challenges for ongoing peace efforts.

Speaking in the Senate of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar stated that both parties were close to sitting together for negotiations. At that critical moment, Israel launched an strikes on Iran. Consequently, Iran responded by targeting oil facilities in Jubail, increasing instability in the region.

Furthermore, Dar said Pakistan strongly condemned the attack on Iran. He noted that Pakistan remained the only Muslim country to openly criticize the strike. He also revealed that he contacted the Iranian foreign minister from Madinah to convey Pakistan’s stance and support.

Meanwhile, Pakistan quickly reached out to key countries in the region to ease tensions. Dar added that both sides had accepted Pakistan’s offer to mediate. As a result, there was initial agreement to hold talks in Islamabad, showing progress toward a possible ceasefire.

Additionally, Dar highlighted that Pakistan shared proposals between the United States and Iran to build consensus. He said global powers, including United Nations, appreciated Pakistan’s efforts.
