World leaders praise Pakistan’s ceasefire diplomacy

Leaders and lawmakers from across the world have praised Pakistan for its diplomatic role in securing a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, agreed shortly before a critical deadline set by Donald Trump.
Trump confirmed the development in a statement, saying the ceasefire was reached following discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir. The announcement marked a dramatic shift from earlier warnings of possible large-scale escalation.
Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the agreement and invited delegations from both countries to Islamabad for further negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting settlement. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s mediation, indicating Tehran’s willingness to halt defensive operations if attacks cease.
