Bushra Bibi shifted to hospital from prison

Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has been shifted from prison to a hospital for medical treatment, according to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Barrister Gohar said the party received information that Bushra Bibi was transferred to a medical facility during the night. He expressed concern over her health and called for immediate access for family members to meet her.
He also renewed PTI’s demand for the urgent transfer of Imran Khan to a hospital, stressing that both individuals require proper medical attention. Gohar emphasized that access to healthcare and family visits are fundamental legal rights and should be ensured without delay.
According to his statement, he was informed late at night about Bushra Bibi’s hospitalisation and was awaiting a detailed briefing on her medical condition and treatment.
Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned at Adiala Jail since August 2023, continues to face multiple legal cases. His detention has remained a major point of political tension between PTI and the government, particularly regarding access to medical care and family visits.
Medical reports submitted to courts indicate that Imran Khan suffers from central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a condition that can severely affect vision. He has reportedly undergone multiple treatments, including eye procedures at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors have previously assessed him as medically stable.
Authorities have maintained that a medical board continues to monitor his condition, while restrictions on meetings have remained in place since late 2025, according to official statements.
The latest development has further intensified political debate over the treatment and medical access of incarcerated political figures in Pakistan.
