The government of Sindh has announced a strict zero-tolerance policy against cheating in matriculation and intermediate examinations, introducing severe penalties for both students and examination staff involved in malpractice.

The decision was announced in a joint statement by Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Universities and Boards Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahu. Officials said the move aims to restore credibility and discipline in the province’s examination system.

Under the new policy, any student found involved in cheating will face immediate cancellation of all examination papers. Authorities further stated that such students will be permanently barred from appearing in future board examinations, effectively ending their eligibility to continue in the board system.

The government also announced strict action against examination staff. Any invigilator, internal or external examiner, or administrative official found assisting or facilitating cheating will face departmental proceedings and may be dismissed from service.

Officials added that students found carrying mobile phones or any cheating material during exams will be disqualified on the spot and removed immediately from the examination centre. Monitoring systems at exam centres will also be strengthened to prevent any form of interference or malpractice.

The decision comes amid repeated complaints of paper leaks and cheating incidents during ongoing board examinations in Karachi and other parts of the province.

Authorities reiterated that strict enforcement measures will be implemented across all examination centres to ensure transparency and fairness in the assessment process. They emphasized that no compromise will be made on examination integrity going forward.

The policy reflects Sindh’s renewed efforts to curb academic dishonesty and enforce accountability within the education system.
