Beggary Prevention Bill

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly introduced a strict law against begging under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Beggary Prevention Bill 2026. The bill sets clear punishments for offenders. It aims to reduce professional begging across the province. Officials say the law will ensure stronger enforcement and social control.

The provincial assembly session started late under the chair of Speaker Adris Khattak. During the session, Law Minister Aftab Alam presented the bill. He said the law will apply across the province. Moreover, it will target organized begging networks effectively.

Under the proposed law, first-time offenders will receive a warning or one-month jail. However, repeat offenders may face up to one year in prison. In addition, fraudulent begging will carry a two-year sentence, while organized groups may face three years.

In addition, the law proposes rehabilitation centers for offenders instead of punishment in some cases. These centers will provide skills training and psychological support. In conclusion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduces Beggary Prevention Bill to curb the practice and promote rehabilitation across the province.
