Security Forces Kill Two Militants in Bannu Operation

Security forces killed two militants in a Bannu operation, officials said. The operation targeted members of a banned militant network. Among those killed was a highly wanted ring leader. The successful action showed strong coordination and timely intelligence by security agencies.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations, forces launched an intelligence-based operation after receiving reports of militant presence. During the raid, a heavy exchange of fire took place. As a result, both militants were killed on the spot.

Officials identified one of the militants as Waheedullah, also known as Mukhtiar. He was a key leader involved in several terrorist activities. Moreover, authorities said he played a central role in planning a suicide attack in February 2026 in Bannu.

The military stated that the killed leader was involved in attacks on security personnel and civilians. Notably, he was linked to an incident that led to the martyrdom of Lieutenant Colonel Gul Faraz. Therefore, officials described the operation as a major success.

Security forces recovered a suicide vest, weapons, and ammunition from the site. Furthermore, clearance operations are still ongoing to eliminate remaining threats.
