PM Shehbaz Sharif extends greetings to China on Chinese New Year

ISLAMABAD – PM Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended heartfelt greetings to the Chinese people and President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival, which began on January 29, marking the end of winter and the onset of spring.

In a televised message, the PM Shehbaz Sharif praised China’s remarkable achievements, describing its success story as a beacon of inspiration for Pakistan. “China’s awe-inspiring renaissance stands as one of the defining themes of the 21st century… For us, China’s success story serves as a beacon of inspiration and confidence,” he stated.

Highlighting China’s impressive journey of progress, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping, which has been instrumental in China’s growth and development over recent decades.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the deep and enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, which has flourished for generations. “Our close ties, rooted in mutual trust and shared aspirations, have now transformed into a comprehensive strategic partnership,” he noted. He further added that the “iron brotherhood” between the two countries continues to be a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, reflecting the respect and admiration both nations hold for each other.

PM Shehbaz highlighted the symbolic importance of the Chinese New Year, noting that it represents transformation and the promise of new beginnings. He pointed out that the Year of the Snake, which symbolizes wisdom and vitality, encourages resilience and collective strength as both nations face challenges and strive for a brighter future.

The Prime Minister concluded his message by reiterating the strong commitment of both nations to global peace, prosperity, and harmony. “Together, we will continue to make meaningful contributions to the world,” he said, wishing the new year would bring good fortune and continued success, further solidifying the unbreakable bond between Pakistan and China.
