Bushra Bibi

The superintendent of Adiala Jail was given a notice by a Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court on Tuesday for failing to bring Bushra Bibi.

The hearing about the authorities’ inability to bring Bushra Bibi before the court on February 1 was presided over by Judge Amjad Ali Shah. Muhammad Faisal Malik, Bushra Bibi’s attorney, submitted the petition.

The court was notified that Bushra Bibi’s bail hearing was set for November 26 in 31 instances, however she failed to appear in court.

The petition said that by failing to force Bushra Bibi to appear in court, the authorities had committed contempt of court.

After filing a notice, the superintendent was subsequently ordered by the court to make an in-person appearance.
