Actor Faizan Khawaja Reveals:“If My Father Wasn’t in Showbiz, I Might Have Committed Suicide”

Actor Faizan Khawaja has revealed that the financial and mental difficulties he faced in the showbiz industry had frustrated him to such an extent that if his father had not been a part of the industry, he would have considered suicide.

Taking to Instagram, Faizan shared a series of videos where he addressed the issue of non-payment and delayed compensation that many actors regularly face, including himself.

He clarified:

“I’m not doing this for followers or to go viral. I’m just speaking the truth that many are afraid to voice.”

He shared his deep concern over the recent statements made by veteran actor Mohammad Ahmed and director Mehreen Jabbar and said he fully agrees with their frustration regarding unfair treatment in the industry.

He also highlighted the unfair economics of the industry:

“It might shock people to know that influencers like Ducky Bhai and Rajab Butt earn in a year what a TV channel makes in a single month. So don’t say they don’t have money.”

He emphasised that “I’ve received timely payments from most people. But I’m speaking for those who keep silent despite being cheated out of their earnings.”

In an emotional moment, Faizan shared:

“If my father, Rashid Khawaja, wasn’t a part of the industry, I might have taken my own life at the height of my career.”

Faizan announced that he will soon release another video revealing the name of the producer who still hasn’t paid him for his work—a bold move aimed at holding exploitative behaviour accountable.
