Actress Meera Appeals to UK Government for Visa to Visit Ailing Sister

Veteran Pakistani actress Meera has made an emotional appeal to the UK government, requesting a visa so she can visit her sister in London, who is currently battling cancer.
In a video message shared on social media, Meera addressed the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, urging her to review her visa application with compassion.
Actress Meera explained that her sister and family are residing in London, but due to a past misunderstanding, her UK visa applications have repeatedly been rejected over the years.
Meera stated that she has now submitted her latest visa application along with her sister’s medical reports, hoping to be granted permission to travel and be with her during this difficult time.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, in February 2025, Meera’s mother, Shafqat Zahra, revealed that British immigration authorities had previously denied Meera entry to the UK, citing a lack of English language proficiency. This led to a 10-year ban, which has now expired.
In her message, Meera expressed hope that the UK authorities would respond to her request with empathy, allowing her the opportunity to support her ailing sister and reunite with her family.
