In a groundbreaking move for Pakistan’s aviation history, a private transport company is undertaking the unprecedented task of transporting a decommissioned aircraft from Karachi to Hyderabad via motorway M9. This operation marks the first time that an aircraft has been moved overland in the country.

The Boeing 737, which boasts 350 seats, has been grounded at Karachi Airport’s yard due to its inactive status. To facilitate its transportation, the aircraft’s wings, engines, and wheels have been removed and secured onto a combination of a ten-wheeler and a 40-wheeler trailer.

Officials from the Pakistan Airport Authority confirmed that the aircraft is being transported to the Hyderabad Civil Aviation Training Institute for training purposes. The journey commenced this morning from the Jinnah International Airport’s China Gate and is expected to reach its destination by tonight.
