Anti-terrorism court issues arrest warrants for Imran Khan and 95 others over D-Chowk protest

Islamabad: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, along with 95 other individuals, in connection with the D-Chowk protest. The arrest warrants were issued in case number 1032 following a case registered by Kohsar Police.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra approved the warrants for several prominent figures linked to the protest. Among those named in the case are PTI leaders Bushra Bibi, Barrister Gohar, Shoaib Shaheen, Ali Bukhari, Aamir Mughal, Umar Ayub, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Faisal Javed.

Additionally, the arrest warrants extend to members of the National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Latif, provincial minister Riaz Khan, and political figures including Suhail Afridi, Shehryar Afridi, and Shahram Khan Tarakai. Also named are Brigadier (R) Mushtaq Ullah, Major (R) Rashid Tipu, Zulfi Bukhari, Salman Akram Raja, Murad Saeed, and Rauf Hassan.

The case stems from the violent protests that took place at D-Chowk, Islamabad, which were allegedly orchestrated by PTI leaders and supporters. The court’s decision to issue arrest warrants marks a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings against those involved in the protest.
