PM Shehbaz Sharif Meets Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, in Islamabad. The Qatari minister is in Pakistan to co-chair the sixth session of the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).
During the meeting, the Prime Minister described Pakistan-Qatar relations as brotherly, positive, and based on mutual respect, emphasizing the need to enhance cooperation in energy, agriculture, information technology, tourism, and infrastructure development.
Prime Minister Shehbaz invited Qatari investors to explore vast investment opportunities under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
Sheikh Faisal bin Thani conveyed warm greetings from the Qatari leadership and reaffirmed Doha’s commitment to further strengthening economic and trade relations with Pakistan.
He noted that the JMC meeting would serve as an effective platform to advance mutually beneficial partnerships between the two nations.

Both sides agreed to translate cooperation into concrete projects and expand business-to-business linkages across various sectors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a significant meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, focusing on enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, energy, and various other sectors. During this meeting, the Qatari Emir was also extended an invitation to visit Pakistan.
The discussions included a formal delegation-level meeting following a one-on-one dialogue between the two leaders. Both parties emphasized the importance of shared economic goals and regional stability, reaffirming their commitment to deepening strategic relations.
Additionally, the leaders addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, condemning Israel’s actions against the Palestinian people. Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed that achieving global prosperity is unattainable without establishing peace in Gaza, stating that the recent violence inflicted by Israel on Palestinians is unprecedented in its brutality.
