Apple continues to work on smart glasses

Tech giant Apple, known for making iPhones and other devices, is now working on developing smart glasses and specialised AI chips, which will also be used in upcoming MacBook models.

According to reports, Apple has made notable progress in developing a custom chip for its smart glasses. Sources suggest this move indicates the company is now seriously preparing to compete with Meta’s popular Ray-Ban smart glasses.

The chip designed for the glasses is based on the low-power chip used in the Apple Watch, indicating it will consume significantly less power compared to those used in iPhones, iPads, or Macs.

The development of this chip is expected to accelerate the production of Apple’s smart glasses, with mass production likely to begin by the end of 2027. This means the company’s first-ever smart glasses could be launched within two years.

What Will Smart Glasses Do?

Apple’s smart glasses are designed to be worn like regular eyewear but will be equipped with advanced technology. They will connect to mobile phones, the internet, and other devices, displaying useful information like notifications, weather updates, and navigation.

In addition, the glasses will likely include a built-in camera for taking photos and videos and could be controlled using voice commands or gestures.
