Asia Cup 2025: Bangladesh opt to field after winning toss against India

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first against India in their Super Fours match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. The decision came ahead of a high-stakes clash, with both teams looking to maintain strong form. This key Asia Cup 2025 match is expected to draw heavy attention from fans across the region.
India named a strong playing XI led by Suryakumar Yadav. The lineup includes Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper. All-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube offer balance in both batting and bowling. Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Varun Chakaravarthy lead India’s bowling attack.
Bangladesh fielded a youthful squad with Jaker Ali as captain and wicketkeeper. Their XI features Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and all-rounders like Shamim Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin. Mustafizur Rahman and Nasum Ahmed are set to handle the pace and spin duties.
India clearly dominate the head-to-head record between the two teams in T20 internationals. Out of 17 matches played, India have won 16, while Bangladesh have claimed just one victory. This gives the Men in Blue a psychological edge going into the contest.
However, both teams enter the match with good recent form. India are on a six-match winning streak, showing strong consistency. Bangladesh, meanwhile, have won four of their last five games. With strong momentum on both sides, fans can expect an exciting and competitive match in Dubai.
