Babusar Top Tragedy: Father sacrifices his life to save sister-in-law and child, says son

A tragic incident unfolded at Babusar Top when a flash flood swept away members of a family returning from Skardu. Fahad Islam, who lost his life in the incident, jumped into the raging water to save his sister-in-law Dr. Mashal Fatima and her 3-year-old son Abdul Hadi, according to his son Asim Fahad.

“When the flood hit, we tried to take shelter near the mountain. But my aunt and Abdul Hadi were swept away. “My father jumped in to rescue them,” said Asim.

The incident occurred a few days ago as a family from Lodhran was returning from a trip. Dr. Mashal Fatima and her brother-in-law Fahad Islam were killed, while little Abdul Hadi remains missing.

Family member Dr. Hafeezullah told the media that due to a two-day power outage at the hospital, the bodies are being preserved with ice blocks. He urged the government to arrange immediate transport of the bodies to Lodhran for burial.
