China to invest $1 billion in Pakistan’s medical city project

In Karachi, President Asif Ali Zardari has invited China to explore investment opportunities in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy to further strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties between the two nations.

Speaking to a Chinese business delegation led by Yang Yundong, the Chinese Consul General in Karachi, President Zardari emphasised the need for increased communication between the people of the two countries, particularly between investors and businesses. He noted that enhanced collaboration would bolster the already strong trade relations between Pakistan and China.

The Chinese delegation showed keen interest in investing $1 billion in a medical city project aimed at improving Pakistan’s healthcare infrastructure. In addition to healthcare, the delegation also expressed a desire to invest in several other sectors, including agriculture, livestock, energy, transport, and manufacturing.
