China’s big decision: Even six-year-olds will now learn AI!

Starting September 1, 2025, China will make AI education compulsory for all students, even for children as young as six years old.

Every student will receive at least eight hours of AI training each year. The curriculum will be designed according to their age:

• Young children will learn through playful and hands-on activities.
• Middle school students will focus on the practical uses of AI.
• High school students will work on advanced AI projects.

This major step is part of China’s wider plan to improve digital skills among its people and strengthen its position as a leader in the global AI race.
