COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir Reaffirms Pakistan’s Role in Regional Peace During US Visit

Washington: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Friday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional peace and stability, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During his official visit to the United States, the army chief engaged in in-depth discussions with senior scholars, policy experts, analysts, and representatives of leading international media outlets in Washington D.C.
His meetings with prominent US think tanks and strategic affairs institutions provided a platform to clearly present Pakistan’s principled stance on key regional and global matters while enhancing mutual understanding of Pakistan’s strategic vision.
Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasised Pakistan’s firm commitment to regional peace and its constructive efforts to support a rules-based international order.
He also provided detailed insights into significant national security operations such as Maarka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos while outlining Pakistan’s perspective on terrorism. The COAS noted that some regional elements continue to exploit terrorism as part of hybrid warfare strategies.
He highlighted that Pakistan has been a frontline state in the global war on terror, having made substantial sacrifices both in terms of human lives and economic costs to ensure global security.
