Trump Announces $2,000 Dividend for Americans from Tariff Revenue

Washington : U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that a significant portion of the revenue generated from trade tariffs will be distributed among American citizens as dividends.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that every eligible American would receive at least $2,000, while high-income individuals would not qualify for the scheme.

He stated:

“We are collecting trillions of dollars and will soon begin paying down $37 trillion in debt. Every person (except those with high incomes) will receive at least $2,000.”

According to international media reports, the U.S. Supreme Court is currently reviewing the legal validity of Trump’s tariff policy, after several lower courts had previously ruled certain tariffs unconstitutional.

It is worth noting that in October, Trump suggested in an interview that the U.S. could generate over $1 trillion annually through tariffs and share $1,000–$2,000 with citizens.

Analysts believe this latest announcement could be a strategic move to strengthen public support ahead of the upcoming U.S. elections.
